About Lynn Burnor
Lynn Burnor grew up nestled right near the Blue Ridge mountains in Virginia, where she could be found playing in the creek, hiking, catching lightning bugs and swimming for the neighborhood swim team. At a young age Lynn displayed a creative streak, putting on everything from skits to song-and-dance routines in the front yard to fashion shows with clothes created from leftover fabric (way before Project Runway!)
Her family made the move to Dallas when she was entering eighth grade, and Lynn began to pursue the arts fervently, singing as a soloist with the church youth choir and performing in touring musicals with them during the summers. A job transfer brought Lynn and her family back to Virginia, where she continued to hone her performance skills. Lynn sang as a lead in a touring church youth band, in high school jazz choir, and around town at nursing homes and youth centers, culminating in a public hour-long full classical recital in which she got to wear not one, but two different evening gowns, which she was extremely excited about.
Shenandoah University Conservatory called with a music scholarship, and off Lynn went to study voice. It was in that first semester of college, however, that Lynn realized her passion for acting and decided to pursue it as a career. She went on to perform in numerous productions, including plays, opera, children's theatre, and musicals, both at college and professional summer stock. After graduation, Lynn was awarded a nine-month acting internship at a well-known Equity theatre in Virginia. It was during her time there that she began to entertain the idea of also pursuing work in film and television. Circumstance would have it that her parents relocated to Austin, TX, and when her contract ended, Lynn packed up her car and moved to Austin to gain experience on-camera.
Since arriving in Austin, Lynn has been blessed to study with great acting coaches who have continually pushed and encouraged her growth as an actress as well as a person. She has been in over a dozen independent films as both a lead and supporting actor, as well as several exciting plays around Austin. She feels very at home with the Austin creative community and is constantly auditioning for new projects. Lynn is represented by The Atherton Group (TAG.)
When not working on her craft or massaging clients (yes, Lynn is also a professional massage therapist!), she is enjoying her adopted hometown. A perfect day might include running around Lady Bird Lake or taking in a yoga class, reading, going out for a glass of wine with girlfriends, watching movies at the Alamo Drafthouse, eating chocolate-avocado sorbet at Whole Foods, adding movies to the Netflix queue, singing terrible '90s pop at karaoke, and contemplating the power of the present moment.
